A canteen is a food service location in which there is a negligible or no waiting staff table service , whether in institutes, schools or in large office building. It’s a self-service area where a person, student, staff or executive can have his lunch brought from home or can have meals available in the canteen.

The Coconut Grove Cafeteria in the Reliance Corporate Park serves around 1000 per day and needs to be revamped after serving approx. 2 million meals in the past decade. Keeping in mind the designing of an upscale cafeteria, the kitchen is to be made as an open kitchen concept serving a variety of cuisine at different sections of the food counter stretching in the length and width of the space at different times of the day.

The preparation area and the dining area is segregated with high equipped counter and glass partition suspended from the ceiling. The suspended glass partition allows to get light in all the sections of the cafeteria and to add with a visual contact between the chef, cooking staff and the customer in the cafeteria.
