The project is located stone’s throw away from the Western Express highway linking Gujarat to Mumbai and on the backdrop of industrial complexes on the south side of the project. The building is currently in a dilapidated condition. While some of the members have already vacated the premises, others are still living in hazardous conditions due to their poor economic conditions. A challenge has been set on us to complete this project in the fastest way possible as to avoid any more deterioration to the already dilapidated building as it is a matter of life and death to the tenements who choose to still live in it.
While addressing the challenges of quick rehabilitation, care has been taken also to give the proposed structure a high standard and fresh habitable space. A terrace with an overhang is proposed at the topmost story of the building to give an aesthetic elevation feature. On the terrace, recreational activities such as roof top garden, sit-out places and indoor Gymnasium are proposed which will form a place for social gathering in the early mornings or evenings. A compact structure is proposed having G + 9 upper floors which will rehabilitate the existing tenements and fulfil their parking requirements with a 2 Level Stilt parking system.
